Hi, I’m Brent and I’m back. Miss me? Of course you did.
Soooo since I have been on hiatus from my online home a lot has happened…
Two more GOP Governors admitted to having affairs. Does being in the public eye make it harder (pun intended) to keep it in your pants?
Started Job # 2, it’s online and work from home 10-20 hours a week ranking, rating, and analyzing search engine results for a technology company. So far I’m liking it even though it is more challenging than I thought it would be. My time management skills need work, but that’s nothing new. I keep telling myself I will get up early and put some time in before going to Job#1 but my will to stay in bed as long as possible has won out.
Took a Civil Service Exam for a job with the city, discovered it was a test for accountants, did bad. Came out of test and discovered my two hours of parking cost $23. So that day just did not start well.
Interviewed for another new job, still waiting to hear.
Michael Jackson died. Seriously though, enough already with the daily coverage, he might have been a great entertainer but he was no role model.
Farrah Fawcett died, sad and overshadowed by MJ and that’s terrible.
Sarah Palin, in the news again popping up like a roach that never dies.
Softball has been going well, winning some and losing some but having fun. I’m glad I got back into it this year.
Matt and Erica came for a visit, it was fun to see them.
There was probably more stuff going on recently but my short term memory and/or attention span is limited at the moment so I will just say a quick hello for now. But check back, I’ll visit more often!
The FB Dilemma
What to do when people you work with want to “friend” you on facebook? I try to not blend my work and personal life. It is why I never disclose where I work anywhere online, here or FB, etc. With the exception of a few trusted work friends from my Michigan days, nobody from work knows about my little online ramblings home right here.
There are a few people from work I genuinely like but still it crosses a line. And you run into the problem of “friending” those that you like and then having others at work who are their friends discovering you on FB and wanting to be friends.
So I have made rules for “friending” people on FB. No coworkers, with the exception of one or two from my previous work home in Mich. And only being FB friends with people I would actually want to sit with and have a meal and the conversation that goes with.

Back To Work, *sigh*
I’ve got to slow down when scanning headlines. I totally misread “dice tossing granny sets craps record” Leave off one little “s” and it makes you do a double take.
Back at work after having a few days off and celebrating my birthday. Alison baked me a fabulous banana cake decorated with sliced bananas and chocolate frosting. It was very yummy. I fully expect a banana dessert each and every time I am at their house.
And after being off only a few business days I came back to 150+ emails. So any chance of productivity on the first day back goes out the window along with the common sense of most of the people sending the emails. I swear many people just type and type with the thinking it makes them look busy and necessary when in fact they are merely time wasters and not necessary in any way. But hey, type away because I can delete typed gibberish just as well as I can ignore spoken gibberish.
It’s A National Holiday Today
Finally….my birthday gets the recognition it deserves.
Headaches Gone
New coffee pot (thanks ABO and PKO)
Caffeine levels slowly returning to normal, mind clearing, life worth living again.
Great Concert Last Night
Bruce Springsteen at Mellon Arena, grabbed a cell phone pic when the lights came up for a brief moment. Thanks to Laurie for a fun time!

My Cup Runneth Empty
OH-MY-GOD

My coffee pot is dead. I’m very distressed and frankly just am not ready to talk about it right now. Withdraw headache is setting in, oh the humanity.
Please check the newspaper for funeral arrangements.
1-0
We won our first softball game of the season today. Good hits and I played short stop. Nothing got by me and except for one unfortunate throw to first base that could be used on a blooper show, it was a good game.
Too Little Too Late
Joe Lieberman, the multiple personality McCain campaigner, is now praising Obama and getting on board with his ideas. Gee don’t hurt yourself jumping on his coat tails as plans for progress are put in place?
Past it, clueless, and needing to just go away are the things that come to mind when I think of him.
