I never should have put my phone number down when I registered to vote in PA because I am getting robo-calls for various Democratic candidates in PA and Pittsburgh.
I had the most racist and foul smelling person in my office today. I’m not sure which offended me more. Could there be a worse combination? Ignorance and hatred is very bad but it doesn’t get up your nose and make you wonder if stench molecules are sticking to your clothes and aura like it did in the Seinfeld episode.
I bought $1200 worth of candy for Halloween, well actually $14 worth, and I only had two little kids come to my door. And those two kids came together. I’m bummed, I love giving out candy to trick-or-treaters. I figured I wouldn’t get many being off the main road, but I thought I would get some. Oh well, I’ll try not to let all the yummy candy go to waste!
Went to a Halloween party this weekend at a coworkers house. There were three people dressed as Sarah Palin, which were the scariest costumes by far, and two dressed as Joe the Plumber. I did not dress up but was told I could be a regular “Joe Six Pack” while holding my beer. So there I was a regular “Joe.”
I’m getting excited as the election nears. Obama is in town today at Mellon Arena for a ralley but I fuond out about it too late to get out of work early enough. I’m hoping the polls are correct and Obama’s momentum carries him to the White House. After being contacted by the local campaign about volunteering or donating in the last days leading up to the election, I choose the option of donating food to the campaign workers that are giving their time and efforts. I wouldnât be good at working the phones or going door to door, people would piss me off too much. I might just wind up punching Mr. or Mrs. Middle America in the face. Although maybe if I wore a McCain button while pounding some sense into McCainiacs that could sway some votes, since reason doesn’t work.
Cold weather is upon us in Pittsburgh. I happen to like winter. I like snow. I like taking walks when the snow is falling. I even like it when gets dark earlier this time of year.
But….
….I really need to be eased into it. But the last couple days I have been shocked into winter. First with the lcoal radio station playing x-mas songs over the weekend, way too early even for this x-mas loving guy. And then this morning I stepped out to see all my car windows covered in frost necessitating the removal by snow scraper. And the car interior was colder than a penguins bottom, and thats pretty darn cold.
Ok the pic above may a little bit of an exaggeration, but the warm days are definetly over.
It has been a wet couple days here in the Burgh. And the water seems to be killing my brain cells. I did not wear a coat or grab an umbrella when I left for work this morning. So there I am hurrying from my car up the stairs to the back door while juggling my bag and coffee cup, and for a couple seconds I could not understand why the electronic door wasn’t opening as I was pushing the unlock button on my car key ring. I mean I was pointing it right at the door!! Feeling ridiculously stupid and even more wet, back I went to my car in the rain to grab my security badge that actually will open the door. I knew then it was going to be a long day, and so far I was right.
The last debate before the election is tonight. I keep waiting for that moment that triggers McOldfart’s temper. I’m liking the current poll numbers but not getting excited because e a lot can happen between now and election day. Keith Olbermann had a good commentary regarding the threats that get yelled out at rallies put on by McCain/Palin in which they do nothing but fan the flames of at best ignorant racism, and at worst potential violence.
And for all the undecided voters out there: Figure it out already! The differences are so freaking clear. I’m so tired of hearing about undecided (dumb) voters.
